Brief:To open up existing residence to take advantage of the expansive north facing bush and urban view.
The client had a residence with good orientation,but was cramped for room.Poor backyard landscaping and acess made the house unfunctional.New bi-fold doors in the existing lounge,leading out to a modern deck,opened up the living space. A bedroom extension and a swimming pool complete the transformation.
Orientation and comfort
Facing North with open aspect the deck gets sun almost all day. The deck is elevated high up and gets all the north eastern breezes. Underneath gets shade and shelter.
Summary:
The property is in a fire zone,so the design incoporated an industrial look,with galvanised steel construction,and fire rated doors.
